Orthotic Services
An orthosis is a device used to support a weakened, unstable, injured or overloaded
part of the body.
There are orthoses for the back, neck, shoulders, arms, lower limbs,
and so on.
Each custom made or custom fitted orthosis is prepared following a
prescription by a physician.
An orthosis may consist of a single unit or an entire system
of components tailored to a specific condition.
Cervical Orthoses: Ranging from simple devices to complex orthoses, which immobilize cervical spine.
Spinal Orthoses: Prefabricated corsets for moderate back support plus custom-
made braces to limit rotation.
Scoliosis and Spinal Fracture: Custom-made pelvic girdles and body jackets for
treatment of scoliosis and post-op spinal fusion and function after the primary cast.
Lower Extremity Orthoses: Custom-made plastic and metal bracing systems to
control undesirable or abnormal motion and permit more normal function.
Knee Orthoses: A wide range of devices to provide protection and function.
Foot Orthoses: Custom-made inserts, shoe devices to assure proper position/comfort.
Upper Extremity Orthoses: A wide range of devices to provide support, immobilization
or function to any part of the upper limb.
